What is Palera1n Jailbreak?

The Palera1n is a macOS and Linux-based jailbreak script that based on checkm8 bootrom exploit to jailbreak supported iPhones and iPads.

The checkm8 exploit is developed by axi0mX, it is a hardware-level exploit cannot be patched by Apple, meaning supported devices can be jailbroken easily.

The Palera1n Jailbreak based on the checkm8 exploit to jailbreak devices running iOS 15 up to iOS 17.4. However, it’s important to note that the Palera1n installation process required skills compared to other easy tools. You’ll need a Mac or Linux system and command-line knowledge to use.

Palera1n scripts uses the Pogo app to install the Procursus bootstrap along with the Sileo package manager, which allows users to install tweaks, apps, and system modifications.

It boots the device with AMFI bypass patch and allows installing jailbreak tools like Sileo package manager using apps such as Pogo (via TrollStore).

Sileo is a iOS package manager Built using Apple’s Swift programming language, it offers better performance, smooth UI, and improved package handling. It also supports sharing repositories with other jailbreak tools like unc0ver and checkra1n.

How to install

Install Palera1n on macOS

• This script will automatically set up Palera1n

Install Palera1n on Linux

• Open your terminal (use bash if you’re on fish shell)
• Run the install command:

• Restart usbmuxd so your device can be detected properly:

How to Use Palera1n

• First, Connect your iPhone to your computer
• Open the Terminal app and type the following command:

palera1n

• Your device will automatically enter Recovery Mode
• Press Enter,
• Then follow the on-screen instructions to enter DFU Mode
• Now it will run the checkm8 exploit and begin the jailbreak process
• If the process gets stuck on “Booting PongoOS…”,
• press Ctrl + C to stop it

• Run the palera1n command again to continue and load the kernel
• Once completed,

• Open the Palera1n Loader app on your iPhone and install package manager (Sileo, etc.)
• That’s it.

Common Issues & Fixes

Since Palera1n is still under development, you may face some issues. Here are quick fixes:

• USB issues (Linux):
• Run

sudo usbmuxd -p -f

• Device stuck in Recovery Mode:
• Use

futurerestore --exit-recovery or irecovery -n

• Black screen after verbose boot:
• Dump onboard blob using SSHRD script and retry

• Pogo app not installed:
• Install Pogo IPA manually using TrollStore

• AFC2 not working:
• Run:

ldid -s /usr/bin/killdaemon && killdaemon

• Stuck on “Booting PongoOS”:
• Press Ctrl + C, reconnect device, and rerun the command

Steps to Uninstall

• Connect your iPhone to your PC or Mac
• (Linux only): Restart usbmuxd:

sudo systemctl stop usbmuxd
sudo usbmuxd -f -p

• Run the following command in Terminal:

palera1n --force-revert

• For rootful jailbreak, use:

palera1n --force-revert -f

Your device will reboot back to stock iOS, removing the jailbreak completely.
