In the latest Samsung One UI 8.5, the old method to enter Download Mode has been changed or removed. Recently, many Samsung users started worrying after hearing that Download Mode was removed in the new One UI 8.5 update. This news created a buzz for the developers who like to use Odin for flashing firmware, fixing software issues, and unbricking devices.

What Changed in One UI 8.5?
In older Samsung OneUI versions, entering Download Mode is very simple. You just need button combination & USB cable to boot into Download Mode.
However, in One UI 8.5, Samsung added a new requirement: You’ve to enable Maintenance Mode from Samsung settings app before accessing Download Mode. Without this, the device will not boot into the Download mode. This is not a big change, but it adds an extra layer of protection.

Samsung Maintenance Mode:
The Samsung Maintenance Mode is a special feature added by Samsung to protect user data. When enabled it will encrypted the Personal files (photos, apps, accounts), the phone runs in a safe environment during service area.

How to Enter Download Mode on One UI 8.5
- Firstly, Go to Settings app.
- Navigate to Device Care option.

- Then, Find and Enable Maintenance Mode.
- Now the phone will restarted & boot into the Maintenance Mode.

Boot into Download Mode
- Once restarted, turn off the Samsung Galaxy OneUi 8.5 phone.
- Connect a USB cable.

- Press and hold Volume Up, Down button.
- Then Warning screen will appears.

- Click Volume Up to confirm Download Mode.
- Now you will see the blue “Downloading” screen.
- That’s it.
- Open Odin on your PC, you’ll see added.
- Now you can flash, install your device normally.

Conclusion:
Samsung did not remove Download Mode, they only made it slightly harder to access for safety reasons. So, normal users, this prevents mistakes & added an extra layer of security for technicians/developers nothing has changed except one extra step. So, first Enable Maintenance Mode → Enter Download Mode → Use Odin normally.
